Troyanda
When Troyanda Ukrainian Dance Ensemble from Selkirk Manitoba approached me to create an original illustration that commemorated their 35th Anniversary in October 2014, I was thrilled! The tremendous journey that Troyanda wanted to celebrate was truly an honour for me to create. The imagery represents three themes of their 2013 /2014 season: The Winter Fantasy Suite, The Zhinochy Vesny ( a spring ritual of women weaving the “Vinky”), and Troyanda’s 35th Anniversary 2014 Tour through Croatia, Hungary, and Austria. Framing the dancers, the traditional Ukrainian symbols, poppies, wheat, and the Rushnyk.
