Angel
The expression of one’s spirit personally is in the moment of dance. Passion, heart, and soul are moved by music and movement as in my experiences in life. Inspiration for “Angel” is twofold. One: A women’s dance I’ve performed as a member of Tropak Ukrainian Dance Theatre named “About Ukraine” represented by the expression in the dance pose. Secondly: the embroidery and headdress styles of the Lviv region of Ukraine where my paternal family was from. As I was completing this piece, an aunt dear to me passed, and I was immediately drawn to name her my “Anhel” or “Angel” as her spirit soared with love.
